Relax and heal

Tikkun is a Permaculture center. To help fund our community projects, we are offering a unique retreat for the ecologically minded on the second floor of our adobe off-grid house. We have one private bedroom and a full private suite available. You can rent them separately or together.

Enjoy our beautiful tranquil grounds. Relax by our Koi ponds, listen to the water flow, watch the butterflies and hummingbirds, have meaningful dialogues with passing chickens.

We offer breakfast of fresh organic farm eggs, local tortillas and beans, seasonal fruit, coffee, tea and juice.

Contact us about group retreats. A private swimming pool with thermal water can be arranged. We also offer volunteer and workshop opportunities.

FAQ

Location + Safety

 

San Miguel is currently a safe travel destination, though basic caution when traveling is always advised. We are in the village of San Jose de Gracia, a quiet rural community. Our grounds are walled and gated.

Tikkun is located at approximately 7500 ft above sea level. If you are traveling from sea level you might need a day or two for acclimation. Refrain from any alcohol.

We are accessible by car, by local bus (3 times a day), taxi and Uber. A shuttle is available from the airport, but we can help arrange for private transportation. People usually fly in to Leon (1.5 hours drive) or Queretaro (45 minute drive) airports.

We are approximately 15 minutes from the northern edge of San Miguel where there is a large shopping center, the local open air Tianguis market on Tuesdays and Sundays, and taxis and buses are available to take you into Centro.

As we regularly go into town, it is often possible to catch a ride with us. The same range of transportation services are also available to get to town from Tikkun.

Pets + Children

We’re sorry, but currently we prefer not to have extra animals here, as we have our own dogs, cats, free range chickens and horses.

Because our ponds are deep and our pools are ungated, we can’t describe our property as child safe. We ask that small children be watched by their parents.

Accessibility

We are not currently handicap accessible.

All bedrooms are up stairs. The walkways are gravel.

Cell Phone + Internet

We have largely reliable Internet service. It occasionally goes down during heavy weather, but typically not for long. Cell phone reception varies throughout the property but seems to work fine for most phones in most places.

Parties + Substances

We love fiestas and we do host group events. But generally Tikkun is a quiet space for retreat, and for intimate and meaningful gatherings. Please keep alcohol under control. Smoking and vaping is permitted outside on the terraces and patio.
